Pepper Green Beans Stir-Fry recipe


INGREDIENTS:
  • Green beans - 1 pound
  • Onion - 1/2
  • Garlic - 2 pods
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 5
  • Water - 1/4 cup
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper powder -  2 tsp
PREPARATION:
  1. Wash and remove the top and bottom of the green beans. Cut them into 1/2 inch length pieces.
  2. Chop the onion coarsely.
    Chop the garlic finely.
  3. Heat a pan. Pour oil and add mustard seeds.
    When it splutters, add curry leaves.(As I don't get curry leaves all the time, I am not using).
  4. Add the beans, onion and garlic.
    Mix well. Add salt and mix.
  5. Cover and cook in low flame for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add 1/4 cup water and mix well. Cook sauteing until the beans becomes soft.
  7. Add turmeric powder, cumin powder and pepper.
    Add salt if needed.
  8. Cook until the water gets dried up.
