INGREDIENTS:
- Green beans - 1 pound
- Onion - 1/2
- Garlic - 2 pods
- Salt to taste
- Oil - 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Curry leaves - 5
- Water - 1/4 cup
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
- Pepper powder - 2 tsp
PREPARATION:
- Wash and remove the top and bottom of the green beans. Cut them into 1/2 inch length pieces.
- Chop the onion coarsely. Chop the garlic finely.
- Heat a pan. Pour oil and add mustard seeds. When it splutters, add curry leaves.(As I don't get curry leaves all the time, I am not using).
- Add the beans, onion and garlic. Mix well. Add salt and mix.
- Cover and cook in low flame for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add 1/4 cup water and mix well. Cook sauteing until the beans becomes soft.
- Add turmeric powder, cumin powder and pepper. Add salt if needed.
- Cook until the water gets dried up.
