INGREDIENTS:
- Green grams (cooked) - 1 cup
- Brown Sugar - 3/4 cup
- Coconut - 1/4 cup
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
- All purpose flour or Maida - 1/2 cup
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Salt to taste
- Oil - 1 cup
PREPARATION:
- Soak 1/2 cup green grams overnight.
- Pour 1 cup water and cook it until it becomes soft. ( if you don't soak , use 2 cups water and pressure cook for 15 whistles).
- Add brown sugar. Mix well and keep stirring in medium flame.
- Add coconut and stir until it gets thickened. Add cardamom powder and mix well. Let it cool.
- Make medium size balls. Keep aside.
- Take half cup all purpose flour or Maida. Add 1/2 cup water and make a batter without lumps. You can use a wire whisk. Add salt to taste.
- Pour oil in a pan and let it heated (When you pour a drop of batter in it, it will immediately come up).
- Then you know the oil is ready. Dip the balls in the batter. Drop gently in the oil and wait for a minute.
- Then turn it over and cook until they become slightly golden brown. Remove from oil and place on paper towel.
