Fried Pancake (Paniyaaram) recipe


INGREDIENTS:
  • All purpose flour or Maida - 1 cup
  • Water - 3/4 cup
  • Brown sugar - 3/4 cup
  • Cardamom powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Oil - 1 cup
PREPARATION:
  1. Take all purpose flour or maida in a bowl.
  2. Add water gradually and whisk with a wire whisk to make batter without lumps.
  3. Add brown sugar and mix well.
  4. Add cardamom powder. Mix well and leave it for 15 min.
  5. Pour oil in a pan and heat it.
  6. To check if oil is ready, pour a drop of batter in the oil. If it comes to the top immediately, then you are ready to start.
  7. Scoop batter in a spoon and pour almost 2 tbsp of batter in the oil.
    Wait for it to puff and come up.
  8. Turn it over and cook until both the sides are golden brown.
P.S : If you want it sweeter, try adding more brown sugar.
